Behaviour Consultation is provided in-home or in the community, to families and care teams requiring overall support or target-specific service. Service is based upon family needs, goals, and wishes for the child or youth with developmental disabilities. A developmental and functional assessment is used to provide a strong understanding of the child or youth and their family needs, the behaviours of concern and overall developmental needs. Families and care teams are provided with foundational knowledge and individualized strategies, programs, and resources to meet the ever-changing and complex needs of the child or youth.
Service is provided in a family-centered manner in which families and primary caregivers are recognized as the expert on their child or youth. There is no prescribed "formula," as the service is as individualized as each family!
Behaviour Consultation is provided in-person throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Kelowna and the Okanagan Areas, the Interior and Fraser Valley regions. Long distance consultation throughout the province of BC is also provided via Zoom and in-person meetings.
